Our Story
A Tradition of Strength, Led with Heart
Shihan Eva Steinwald, 6th Degree Black Belt, began her martial arts journey in 1991 in San Diego, California, inspired by the discipline and purpose of traditional Shotokan karate. When she moved to Eagle, Idaho, she fulfilled her dream of creating a dojo that welcomes all ages and levels — one built on respect, perseverance, and community.
Over three decades later, Shihan continues to guide students of every generation, sharing her belief that martial arts can transform lives — not just through physical skill, but through character and mindset. Under her leadership, Idaho Martial Arts has become a trusted cornerstone for families and a respected name in the national karate community.

Our Story
At Idaho Martial Arts, we believe true strength begins within. Since 1997, our dojo in Eagle, Idaho has helped children, teens, and adults develop confidence, focus, and resilience through the discipline of traditional Japanese Shotokan karate integrated with jiujitsu and self-defense. Every class builds character as much as technique. Whether you’re 5 or 55, you’ll find a community that challenges, supports, and celebrates your growth every step of the way.
